What Masters degrees can I get with a Bachelors in Marketing?
I'll be getting my bachelors degree in marketing in May and I'm looking to get a Masters degree but not too sure I want to get an MBA. I'd like to get a Masters in something other than business to keep more options open but I'm not sure what my options are. Anyone know what other programs (if there are any besides an MBA) that I could get into with my degree?

I suggest going out into the work place and working for 2-3 years before diving into your Masters. In fact, most programs recommend that. If you don't have experience but you do have a masters, you won't be TOO much more of an asset. So get some work experience and figure out waht you like to do. I'm getting my Masters in Marketing, which is exciting.

it's better to decide first and then get the appropriate masters. an MBA is always a good bet (and the logical extension of a marketing BA) but only if you want to pursue a career in the world of business. if you want to teach, then it would be different.

A master's degree majoring in marketing and corporate communications, advertising or events management. =)

Virtually anything - even applied math. Many (probably even most) masters are designed as conversion degrees to give you professional quals in an area you did not necessarily study as an undergrad. Whether to get a Masters after you have completed your undergrad or get a bit of work experience first is a personnel choice - I don't think there is any right or wrong answer. Personally what I would do is get a masters immediately after my degree to ready me for the job market then get an MBA later. But a case can be made to get an MBA directly after you degree as well - especially for technical degrees like engineering and CS to give you some business background. But that could just as easily be done by an Msc in business. The choice may be taken out of your hands however - some masters require job experience. Thanks Bill

What types of jobs could I get with a masters degree in Marketing
What types of jobs could I get with a masters degree in Marketing?
I am graduating this spring with a bachelor in business management. I am thinking about going for my MBA in either Marketing or Management. Which is a better field with more opportunities? Also what are some job opportunities I could land right out of school with an MBA i couldnt get with just my bachelors? Thanks

There is no MBA in marketing or MBA in management. Maybe you mean MS degree. MBA means Master in Business Administration. With graduate degrees in management or marketing, you should get somewhat better paying jobs than without the graduate degree. With an MBA you have many more opportunities because it is a broader degree training you to manage any area of business up to CEO. However, while you can get an MS directly out of college, you need 2-4 years work experience before you apply for the MBA. Some MBA programs may accept you without work experience if you have a high GPA and high GMAT score. Find the program that best fits you in the Official MBA Guide, a free public service.

Masters in Marketing without an Economics bachelor's
Masters in Marketing without an Economics bachelor's?
All right, well I am about to start college as a freshman. The major I am interested in is English with concentration in writing. Since I want to work in the publishing industry, I believe this will work for me. However, just in case I am looking into double majoring, Economics. Is it possible to get a Masters in Marketing without an Economics degree, and only with an English degree? I'm thinking of either working in editing, possibly marketing.

Absolutely possible, it doesn't matter what your undergrad degree is in when you go for your MBA.

You'd be going for a Masters in Business Administration in Marketing. You don't need to have any specific undergrad degree to get into an MBA program, but keep in mind that most require you to have some work experience. Go to college and study what you're interested in, especially because you're considering grad school. I don't know personally, but I've heard that double majoring in two liberal arts subjects (English and Econ) is useless.
